Rainbow cotton candyA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)![]() Old fashioned![]()
Cream muslin
White satin Blue polka dots Red velvet Pink flowers Purple lace Black nylon Yellow cheesecloth Green taffeta Orange chiffon Grey linen Faded denim A rainbow of colours To tempt the most idle Dressmaker To tempt her passion hidden for years Rows and rows and reams of colours All to tempt her to live idle days no more The coloured. Cotton satins and glorious textures to make into curtains dresses jackets and she couldn't wait to pay the lady The lady asked her what she wanted She replied you choose dear I can only hear She saw the cotton candy colours though In her eyes all aglow In her imagination clearly so With tears under those dark glasses That trickled silently below And she knew that she had to try to sew To feel the colours come alive She knew her cotton candy Had to be sewn by her Before her time to die And when she dies She will lie in a dress made by her The colour it don't matter She will wear it It will be her cotton candy That she makes That will keep her coloured Up so pretty As she lies under blue and Sunny skies On that rainbow hill The package wrapped so neatly Brown paper and some green ribbon there She took it home and sewed all night She made a dress a purple dress that long cold night She'll see the colour That glorious purple hue When her spirit flies up to her Maker Up through her cotton candy rainbow skies In her purple cotton candy Purple haze That holds no blind disguise In purple skies © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Reviews
