Table for twoA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)![]() To all the widowers![]()
Table set for two
Nothing else to do Ham and eggs to please Bernaise sauce on side at ease Two cups of coffee set with milk Sweetened with her loving gentle hand Newspaper fresh from printing ink On sideboard with glasses that often clink Pepper salt and serviettes Make a picture fit for best She waits and eats it all alone Then gives his plate to dog like an old bone She has done this every day Since he went too far away On that summers eve And she will join him one fine day What's a loving wife supposed to do This is what she chooses however blue © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Featured Review
