criss cross

criss cross

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

writing as I go quickly not sure where this one is going?

"
we criss we cross
we erase
we stamp
we make a maze
we find the path
the righteous way
we criss we cross
we take it slow

you will not find me
at some crazy intersection
of avenues
of cars that beep
that gently go around
I wont go on that roundabout
of sorts

I wont follow the sheep
the ones that don't know their way
ive found my way
I choose to be alone
I take great delight in my own time
to be so quiet or
turn radio on to blind my ears
being alone will deafen out the notes

I cant criss or cross anymore it seems
ive become stagnant on my own
I chose my path
my cross is now my own to bear
I have a few things left on  bucket list
till the day I die ill criss and cross
that bucket list
but who cares anyway
to the dust under some tree ill one day lie
