Dust

Dust

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

As I go

"
We are all
Every one of us
but grey dust
For the future
Generations
To sweep
Trample
And
Curse
Let’s use our colour
Our life
Our fleshy bits now
Our intellect and words
And lungs that draw
In 02 now
Not as just one big
Useless long
Rehearse
For our dust will settle
I’m sad to say
Have u ever visited a sad
Lonely grave
On a spring sunny day
And felt that cold
Stillness there
I can easily smell
That idle cold dust in there
So dust to dust
Earth to earth
And ashes to ashes
We will always be
I hope it’s a long way off
For you and me
Cos dust is annoying to sweep up
I say
On my broom I lean
As I empty my dust can
Into my trash out back
I realise I’m never gonna come back

beautifully written. got a very strong "nothing really matters" vibe. i really like the dust metaphor, works really well with your message!
