school lovers

school lovers

A Story by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

fiction made up but romantic.

"
There they stood
as thousands had
up the aisle as one
down the aisle
newly wed as two
but one
if you know what i mean

He was her first and only love
he knew he loved her
from the time he saw
her in 6th grade
way back
with her giggly freckles
and little 6inch plaits
of golden brown hair

they were friends
good friends
played monopoly
cluedo
cards
hide and seek
their parents watched
they approved over tea
and biscuits then

then high school came
they still friends
but then one night at a school
formal you know
she looked so lovely
in her pink sheer dress
her hair all up
her earings gold
her mothers necklace
that she told

he walked her home
she knew he had changed
he began to stutter
stand at her gate
ill see you tomorrow
ok
said she
she turned to go
he held her hand
they locked eyes
two 16 year olds
the rest is history
he loved her then
she loved him back

no one knew when it changed
but they did
they knew it was that night
he first kissed her at her garden gate
the jasmin scent
the roses bent
the moon up high
the starry sky

the years went on
they were the item
of that senior high school year
they never stopped
to think that there would be any
other
that they would marry
it was almost expected

the day they married
they knew their vows
their mums had showed
them when and how
all was good
till there he stood
he began to stutter lose his
voice
till he saw her come down
the aisle
she was dressed as  an angel white
in gown of satin
virgin white

the years went slowly
but quickly by
they had their kids one by one
so 4 they had
all grown up
and one still a lad
so the motto of this story is
if you know true love
hold on to it fast
no matter how young you are
your love will last

that giggly freckled blue eyed girl
with the little winsome curl
he loved her then
aged only ten or twelve
she knew she would marry him
one day and that was true alright
she just didnt know
when or how
but she looks down on photo albums now
a tear in eye
her kids all gone
have left her nest
and in that urn
on the piano now
lies her husband
her soul mate
she loved the best
shes glad that she knew him when
he was just a lad of ten
she has the pictures of him and her
way back then
life is hard life is cruel
but she loved her boy her man
she met at school
