The train rideA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
The rhythm
His Breaths Like a journey Through a long tunnel Oxygen was the train The wheels Beating slower and slower Till the train stopped Midway through the mountain The gates shut tight The guard waved his flag ‘‘Twas time to find Another carriage The weary traveller stood Up Alighted To his new station The whistle blew All aboard was shouted He stood alone and waved No one saw him He just saw his shadow Departing From whence he wasn’t sure Breaths tight but Stronger now He was on the right track To his journeys end © 2021 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Reviews
