Double A’s parody

Double A’s parody

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

A bit of silly

"
The double A battery
Was the only clue left

The crime scene
Had no fingerprints

Whoever had performed
The whodunnit

Had the murder gadget
But Missing one double A
Of course

Inspector gadget
Shook his head

He will crack this case
If it takes a lifetime

Of late night t v shopping shows

Gadgets are
right up there

With his overworking
double A brain

Much later …..

No sleep for weeks
He walked to work

No clues yet

He Tripped on
An automatic shoe horn

Yes ! it had a battery compartment
And one double A battery inside

He had his coffee
Bought a double A

And the hardware man winked at Gadget
Gotcha you shoe horn murderer !!

The poor guys still in prison
He was just being super energetic
Double triple Aa friendly that day

Smiled throughout, brows raised in slight bewildement! Bewilderment decreasing but has left a scar that could stay with me til I can buy another double triple A at the store. Or not. Wondering about AI or the complexities life demands these days, rules, snf conditions writ in ten languages too!

Thanks lots for sharing.. will now fade into the night with a thought or twp lingering. Keep safe. Julie, Enjoy your Sunday. :)

You are most welcome,
Lisa, raining here in Spain...I love it..
I'm still trying to think of an electric shoe horn. Now days they put batteries in everything. Did it have a light so the toes could see how far to advance? A clever write and one, as all good stories do, left me wondering at the end.

Yes well Gadget had to arrest someone but I think he got it wrong in the end
Thanks so much
Oh I love this. Bright and colourful, whimsical and clever. Yet with an underlying seriousness about the human condition.
