Andromeda's Boast

Andromeda's Boast

A Poem by J.V. Stanley

Andromeda’s Boast

Feel the secretions as they flood

Through veins-

Emptiness consumes

The face-

Andromeda would be proud

Of such feats,

Of warding off the soul lying deep

Within the shallow waters of the mind…

Drown within them,

Flood your sense.

Feel the wrath of the noxious gasses

Fill the lungs-

The mercury falls with

Palms of unworthy hands.

Coddle it, like a child-

Let its poison rupture

The delicate recesses of will

Let it soak deep within the

Novelty of flesh

This was very nicely written, you used the right words to paint some great images and you kept the pacing perfectly. I like the overall message too. Nicely done!
