GOLDEN RAYS

GOLDEN RAYS

A Poem by Kajal Gulabani

In the midst of swinging palm trees ,
She sings out to her beau like a humming bird,
Sitting on the rocks that lay still in peace,
Shying away like a blooming bud.

In the noir night with stars playing hide and seek,
Her weary eyes dive in reverie,
Her parted lips smile with no bleak,
As the moon's radiance seeps through her heart in glory.

'Come my beloved, she soars with delight,
Or I shall wither away like autumn leaves,
This pallid moon reflects my plight,
Like a barren land, lie parched my dreams'.

Days flew...so did months and years,
But her love knew no bounds,
She shunned away fearful tears,
Where is the beautiful dawn ?

'Rise and Shine - My bright-eyed Man,
I yearn for thy soft embrace,
Blow away my pain as none ever can',
She gazed afar in hope for golden rays.

O' God of power ! Up there in the skies,
Washing the clouds with its saffron hue,
Rising like a phoenix with all its might,
Here dawn kisses the morning dew.

She stressed her wrinkled brow some more,
And there she saw a raging horse,
With her hero ruling over ,
Roaring his victory like the rain showers.

Deprived soul danced in euphoria,
Just as the peacock swaying in mirth,
Pearled eyes deeply moist in awe,
Her heart pounding with no agony- no dearth.

'There comes my beloved'; screamed her trembling lips,
Dry winds blew in new direction,
Caressing her blushing cheeks,
Birds singing along in unison,
She paved ahead , hair letting - in breeze,
Her soul drowned in him, time lost its motion,
Tears flowing as deep streams,
Is Mother Earth smiling at her beloved Sky in union ??
