Wrong Track

Wrong Track

A Poem by Clara Kevie

I thought I'd never be over it
Because surely
Only an idiot would let
Something so intensely beautiful
Out of debt.

Then it went away
Out of sight and mind
Right now, today
It's not striking inside my skull;
Kept at bay.

I thought I was over it
Because surely
Only an idiot would let
Something they have no control over
Bite and hit.

Then it came back.
Every vision in my brain
weakens, ties me on my back.
It hurts and I feel myself degrading
On the wrong track
With all I lack.
