A Poem by Willow Clark
"

sonnet

"

Swaying in rhythm with Poseidon’s sea,

Skin gently warmed by Apollo’s kisses.

She dances past Athena’s olive tree,

Sifting the sand as she reminisces.

With the sweet innocence of Artemis

The girl recalls the words of lovers past.

She falls into that eternal abyss

Of wondering why love can never last.

Other downcast lovers wonder the same;

Questioning how quickly loves fires can cool.

Often when Eros his arrows doth aim,

Men and women are made to look the fool.

But as such lovers are so wont to do,

The girl still dreams of a love that is true.

Eternal hope. We all have it be us fools or otherwise. Lovely, just lovely.
