RealizationA Poem by David KaminskyAll we once knew could be a lieSwirls of color blind your eye, a blur of shades and hues, an overlap of emotion. a misguided direction, where there is no path, no reality, just a organization of colors, a passage made of the dark tints, dark browns and grays, a hope to another world, leading you, pulling you closer to no where, yet not moving you at all. What if your beams of light, were nothing but misconceptions? What if your bleeding heart, was just hallow all along? Your palette of beauty, was nothing but all the wrong colors, all paths lead to dead ends, a made up, imaginative, reality. You come to realize, that your beauty, isn't really beautiful. that your pain, wasn't really painful. All those shades, tints, shadows, that meant so much before, mean nothing but the chaos they create, a world destroyed, which brings a loss of expression, an empty pit, an abyss, a never ending end, but brings a new perspective, new colors and shades and hues, the different strokes and textures, the opportunity, to erase all your muddy colors, to revision life, to fullfil. You try to paint the world, with a this new set of colors, frustrated, confused, angered. stroke, by stroke, by stroke you work on a new picture, of life, and beauty, sloppy slips in the corners, accidents and scratches, mistakes, unmatching colors, it's imperfect. it's beautiful.
