Best Friends

Best Friends

A Poem by Kelli Anderson

BEST FRIENDS

Friends are far away, some friends are close by.
Your best friend will be there to lend an ear when it's needed.
They will listen, they will laugh, and they will cry with you.
But most of all, they will be there for you.
Through your ups and downs, through thick and thin.
You're true friends are always there when you need them the most.
You really know when your friends are sincere
when they always show up when you need them.
They're there just to be there; just to hang out.
They're there to listen and not ask questions.
They'll lend you a shoulder to cry on when you need it.
The true friends are those that feel comfortable even in silence.
True friends are able to tell each other anything,
and they understand without question.
They know that they can be honest with each other,
no matter what the cost.
True friends can stay up all night and not talk about anything.
True friends can forgive each other no matter what they have done.
They can learn from each others mistakes.
You know that you can be yourself with them;
rather it's being silly or serious.
When you manage to get yourself into trouble,
it's usually them that are there right beside you.
Thanks for being by best friend,
for always listening to me ramble on,
even when I don't make much sense.
