Burning desires and empty flames

Burning desires and empty flames

A Poem by karmic

I was the only one begging for you
Lonely nights that I had to go through
I put my heart into your shivering hands and it breaks
Just a little pressure is all that it ever takes
In the end this scene will split into two
And the only thing left standing will be you
But at least when it's all said and done
We'll say to ourselves that this was horribly fun

Who would have knew this fire we made was to consume
To bury our ashes and souls to exhume
And pick us apart to find meaning in the detail
Just to contradict it all like a rational hell

So when your monologue falls apart and the curtains are drawn
Remember that I'm the one who didn't wish you were gone
