A BALL OF CLAY

A BALL OF CLAY

A Poem by Kim

If I had a ball of clay

I would mold a whole new face

One that time has not etched with frowns

And shows elegance and grace

If I had a ball of clay

I would mold a brand new ear

So I could hear the beautiful sounds

And not hear the shouts and screams

If I had a ball of clay

I would mold a brand new mouth

And take away all the nasty words

That so freely came on out

If I had a ball of clay

I would mold some brand new feet

To lead me down a different road

Where I wouldn't feel so incomplete

If I had a ball of clay

I would mold some nice young hands

To help me feel my way through life

And all that it contains

If I had a ball of clay

I would mold a whole new mind

That harbors no abuse or pain

And is rational and sane

If I had a ball of clay

I would mold a heart of new

One that isn't shattered and broken

But is beating strong with love

If only I had a ball of clay

If only. Good poem here. Liked the thought behind it.

Oh that was fun. Playful sorrow. My only qualm was the unfulfilled rhyme set up by the first staza, but it still had good rhythm and was a beautiful write. Artistic. really makes you want to find some clay to play with. It made me think of the clay scene in Ghost (the Patrick Swayze movie). I enjoyed it very much. :)

I like to escape into the world of my mind which then allows the scribblings of reflection to flow. I write what I feel and what comes to mind. Some are silly, some are dark, some are good and som.. more..
