THE MONSTER

THE MONSTER

A Poem by Kim

Scary days and scary nights

When will he come through that door

Scared of the ensuing fights

What would be in store

You never knew when the monster

Would appear

And with it came tears and fear

Oh the pain, Would this be the time

The time he would take me away

To afraid to let anyone know

What would he do what would he say

I want to see the children grow

We finally left today

We are free from the horror

He cannot hurt us anymore

We have survived the war

My X was not physically abusive to me...but he was verbally. I could feel the pain when reading this; and it brought me back to the days I use to cringe when the garage door would open when he was home from work. My boys and I got out too...we also survived the war.

Good job

Be careful of tense & I think you need some punctuation in here. Great job :) M.A.

I like to escape into the world of my mind which then allows the scribblings of reflection to flow. I write what I feel and what comes to mind. Some are silly, some are dark, some are good and som.. more..
