Gunpoint

Gunpoint

A Poem by Kaseda

Have you ever been held at gunpoint?
Have you ever simply walked to the grocery store,
But done so at the wrong time.
And ended up with the silver barrel
Pointing death at your head?
Or
Are you built with bullet proof skin?
Would you deflect a bullet with a mere
"No, sir,"
and tell them that what they've done
is wrong?
Or
Are you thin enough to dodge a bullet?
Would it simply fly past,
grazing your skin,
but not your life,
because you're simply too thin?
Or
Are you a bullet?
Do you fly at a grocery store?
Do you fly into things you can't pierce?
Do you fly past things you can't hit?
But most of all, why do you fly?
Do you fly because you one day
Dream of hitting that which you can't hit?
Do fly because you one day
Dream of piercing that which you can't pierce?
Or
Do you fly because,
There is something you can hit,
And kill?
