Rain

Rain

A Poem by Katrina Mckeown

                                              RAIN

Rain  rain falling from the sky

Pure and clear like crystal

then in the mud

it

disappears.

'RAIN'
Katrina McKeown,
Yes,rain is the cool essence of rejuvenation and a true blessing and need for life. Yes it is 'pure and clear like crystal.' Your last line; 'it disappears.' Is so true and amazing for this is what brings life as the earth absorbs it's essence.
Bless you!

That’s true Kathy thank you!
I think this is brilliant. It shows how the world corrupts things. The rain falls from Heaven clear and beautiful. Then falls into the dark mud and disappears. We must not allow this world to choke out goodness and innocence.

I love short, nature-themed poetry (despite the fact that poems aren't exactly my forte, I can actually write haiku pretty well!) and this was a really calming piece. It was straightforward, yet still had great imagery. It reminded me of a quiet, untouched forest on a peaceful afternoon... I could almost fall asleep thinking about it (but in the best way possible, ha ha).

Lovely poem, and best of luck! :)

who said poems had to be long to be good. I like short poems they have just as much meaning as some of the longer ones if not more. They leave you open to interpretation and mind wondering. Good write.

Rain drops are the tears falling from Angel's cries they weep whilst we reap the darkening of our days,i liked this poem and can quite imagine myself dancing in the rain getting soaked to the skin but loving every moment of it,i like the feel of rain drops on my tootsies when i am wearing my strapped sandals and go for an early morning walk it fills me with passion yes is a way of us humans cleansing our tainted souls before the day of judgement presides a sentence over us in the next kingdom.

Short and sweet, but hits like a punch.
Made me think of how fleeting life and existence can be.
Well done.

short, very much like a haiku.
nice...in a way that it is it's so mild despite the shortness, i almost felt the rain.

somehow it makes me think twice, because of the lenght, it makes me think that it is a sort of a riddle, or a metaphor. good!
