The Finite and Infinite

The Finite and Infinite

A Poem by Katie

Earth has rotated on it's axis 1.6 trillion times since it's creation
There are 200 billion stars in our galaxy
Each with a chance to support a solar system
Each with a plausible Earth
And 200 billion galaxies
We will be here for 30,000 Earth rotations
But stars will still be born and stars will still die
Galaxies will still collide
And the universe will still expand
An infinite cycle
While humans are merely finite, disposable, to be around for a millisecond in comparison to the universe's immeasurable time
The universe is forever
It is beautiful without needing an insignificant being around to enjoy it's beauty
