A Poem by KatharineDishron
"

meh

"

I recognize the sadness in their eyes

The helpless flies in the spiderwebs

I try to make them smile and

All the while needing my own rehab

The real reason for hatred is tucked away

I’m contributing to the hostility of wars

I fucked myself over so many times

If the lesson isn’t washed up on the shore

Anytime soon, I deserve all this gloom

It’s bad enough that I hate myself

When they hate me too, I hate myself more.

This poem f*****g sucks

I’m fat from eating my emotions

What’s the point in finding rhymes

Nobody cares about it anyway

You are f*****g worthless

You quote Ghandi but

Have the substance of something evil

Change your ways little girl

You have time to change your ways

Be nice to everyone.  Be nice to everyone.

Be nice to everyone.  You don’t know how

They got their scars.

A powerful poem. Comes out almost like a reminder of what not to do. It's good to purge it onto the page.

Katharine, gloomy poem, you definitely put your emotions out there. I particularly like the line "I’m fat from eating my emotions", a very powerful metaphor in the poem. Hope to read more of you work.
