Broken Love

Broken Love

A Poem by Katie

The way the mountains skim across the sky
He sat there looking through my eyes
The wind blew slow and that was a clue
That nothing else could ever be that cruel
The footsteps kept their steady pace
They started slowing down it wasn't a race
The girls hair fell to the ground
She broke her soul, heart, and crown
She never even looked back
She decided she would wouldn't be defined by her past
He loved the smell of holding on
He even wrote her a secret song
The song has no music to it
But warmed her heart and then it lit
She told the stories of the sheep
Stories he promised to keep
Her brain was washed and never dried
Mostly because of his lies

Sad but many times true for some of us. Great job!
