Perfection

Perfection

A Poem by Katie

We all have our flaws
our issues with the mirror
even the strongest glasses
can't make our image clearer
We can never please our minds
or smile at what we see
all the thoughts combined
say: Why's that gotta be me?
Knowing it's not true,
it's the mirror that we blame
Self consciousness-it grew
or so our minds they claim.
We shouldn't hate the reflection
all of us are "pretty"
stop aiming for perfection
it's society we should pity.
