Dear Darling

Summer was filled with smiles,

and I'll never be the same.

You don't have to write hello letters to tell me you're okay,

even though you're miles away, you're still in my heart.

I wonder if you ever think about me,

I wonder if we can ever pretend we'll never go home again.

Just whisper those three words,

that my lips longs to smile at.

I'll never forget you,

for your name is written in a spot on my heart.

Tonight it's me and you under this sky,

let's take it and run away like the stars will never die.

The sun never set like it did that night on the dock,

with your eyes deep in mine, they locked and we knew it was real.

That day we got caught when the rain came down,

will stay with me and will always warm my frown.

Please don't fall asleep in this dream,

because the clouds still have our names written in them.

When my glance caught you looking at me,

that was the day I thought take me to a secret place.

Take me away with you,

like the daydreams we shared that summer.

I won't ever forget that summer we found eachother,

with my head next to yours and the sun shining down like nonother.

 

That was the best of our lives darling, and we will always share that secret.
