Bottoms Up

Bottoms Up

A Poem by Kay J.

Our hands shake in the cold
Watched our dreams fade
With every bottle you downed

My sorrows stay
A broken heart at a young age
My mind poisoned with each pill you take

I can feel my heart harden
With each tear that dries

My dreams fade away

Gee
We move on, vowing not to do as they, but instead to make a better life for ourselves. Addiction blights many a life.
