THE LUGGAGE

THE LUGGAGE

A Poem by Lachimolala

The Luggage

By Lachimolala

As soon as I heard the “Take off” announcement:

It is time to fly somewhere.

“Fastened your seatbelt for your safety.”

All I want is for my heart to be safe.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

In 5,4,3,2,1

I solemnly swear that I would not let myself go back to that place

As soon as it took off, I felt like flying

My deep wounds started to ache

“With an altitude of 33,000 feet at an airspeed of 500miles per hour”

Looking through the window

A shape of you and me having fun

was all I could see.

I looked back for a moment --  a moment where we laughed and cried.

Go get my small luggage.

As soon as you open it you’ll see that

I carried you.

Why is it hard to make you disappear in my mind’s eye?

It is hard, but I want to see myself in the middle of

The Garbera Daisy that surrounded me.

I’ll move.

I’ll say goodbye.

I’ll spread my wings.

And never come back.
