Stabbed in the Back

Stabbed in the Back

A Poem by kay

Foundation and Ice covers the marks
so people don't question the scars
if they ask "Is everything all right"
You smile and put on a fake disguise
Every night she dreaded going home
Cause a druken man was always on the other side of the door
You put the kids to bed and turned the radio on loud
So they wouldn't hear your cries and screams pouring out
When he's finally done you lay awake in bed, praying to be brought out of this misery and dread
One day you got up the courage, grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him in the back
The same way he stabbed you when he said he'd never hurt you
Years later you still go through pain
But now you have a Granddaughter that'll help you through anything.
