If you could have the whole world,
All all the creatures in it,
If all the riches could be yours,
Would you reach out and take it?

If fall went right to springtime,
And springtime went to fall,
If we lost harsher seasons,
Would trees still grow so tall?

If men could write in the stars,
And stars could tell the past,
If we could not destroy it,
Would truthful history last?

If one could rule the planet,
Lands, oceans, and the sea,
If that one loved the whole world,
Should that be okay with me?

If life is truly priceless,
And could not be worth more,
If everyone deserves life,
Should we fight in war?

If everything was over,
No more land, or life or sky,
If only one survived it,
Would they want to die?

If everything was perfect,
The whole world finally right,
If someone tried to break it,
Would it be worth the fight?

If one could fix the planet,
And keep peace for all with ease,
If the same one made a mistake,
Could it ruin everything?

If I could have the whole world,
And all the creatures in it,
If I could mess it all up,
Should I reach out and take it?

Better to try and fail than to give up before you've even began.
I read a quote somewhere that said "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intent of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand and wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride!"

Life certainly is a big IF. But it looks as if saving the planet is where the most work is needed.
