A Poem by Kara Robinson
"

Written in 2012 as a high school senior

"
There are certain things in this world
That make me feel like the luckiest girl
They can make any hardship a lot easier
If you want to render it enjoyable, make it cheesier
It comes from any country around this earth
We've been enjoying it since well before birth
It makes you feel content and full
Add spices to prevent it from being dull
Prepare it in large groups or prepare it alone
Or order it from a restaurant or via the phone
Chew it up and spit it out if it's really bad
Poorly-made meals can make any hungry person mad
But if it's good your stomach will know it
And extremely pleased will be this poet
You need it every six hours to stay alive
Seems like I will die if I don't eat in five
Sometimes people enjoy eating way too much
Because they get fat and heart attacks and such
All in all, food is my best friend
Don't ask me to share, I will not lend
