My Undying Love

My Undying Love

A Poem by kbob
"

Beat me, bruise me, break me. I will still always love you.

"

I let my hands be pierced by your thorns

I hope the scratches will stay

They will let me know I prevailed through

The hardships of each revealed day

I allow my legs to be burnt by your fire

I use it to keep me from running stray

It will keep me in one place

You can break me as you play

I allow you give my body pain

Some people may ask, why?

Though my body will wither

My heart can never die

It is shattered to pieces

Fragile shards lie around me

Each a fragment of forgotten hope

No memories I wish to keep

They slowly meld back together

Every day forms a new piece

Revived from the plains of hell

These feelings will refuse to cease

So scold me as you will

Steal me from my light

But my love will never die

Not without a fair fight

It's amazing the things that inspire poems. I fell into a briar patch and then came up with this :)

I agree with you, I am also amazed at what inspires my writings. But I'm sure that the reasons are all hidden in the subconscious. This write could be interpreted to be spiritual, even religious or an unconditional devotion to a loved one.
