Know That I Too
We are never alone (a poem for mental health month)
Hush Now

Hush Now

A Poem by Kyera
"

The placation paradox.

"
These fears of yours, of disturbing the peace,
they put punctures in my soul like Swiss cheese,
rot my spirit like cavities.

Tell a shark not to swim,
and it will die.
Cut it's wings, and your precious bird,
it won't fly.

You're so desperate for tranquility
you're turning swell into tsunami.
You pacify me with your booze and smoke and fake smiles
then ask, 'why aren't you happy'.

What if you told the rain: 'no not today...'
'no hold off till I can get out of the way'.
Well all those drops that so patiently waited,
are no longer harmless, but murderously weighted.

Well folks, looks like the forecast for tomorrow is
Cloudy with a chance of YOU'RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER F*****G UMBRELLA.

I adore your second to last stanza; especially, "Well all those drops that so patiently waited,
are no longer harmless, but murderously weighted." I think this section is beautifully worded and I appreciate how visual this poem is.

Nice metaphors and rhyme structure on the animal verse. Gets a little intense near the end.
