Sap

Sap

A Poem by PenManShep
"

I wrote this when I was tired.

"

“Sap”

As I rise, sap blurs my eyes

Slowly crawling through the limbs

This cruel liquid exorcise

Tapped through pores or glassy rims

Slugging to my trunk does sit

Pooling down around the base

Sticking to my branch’s mitt

Dragging down a heavy face

The harder I try to move

Thicker the dark nectar dons

Chop me down so I improve

Before the thick amber bonds
