She Lives...

Its really about a girl struggling with having the strength to continue living or to end her life for good. Depressing, but something that hits home for me in a lot of ways.

She sits alone on the ground

looking for any sign to give her hope

her heart is sad blood drips like tears

she bows her head, clutches her chest

the razor blade falls with a clang

She doesn’t know if she has the will?

can she bring herself to stand the pain?

does she have the courage to survive?

She grips her shirt wet with red life

tears run down her porcelain cheek

she looks up to pray for a poetic ending

with no end in sight she puts her pieces back together

one hand touches the cold surface of concrete

muscles contract as she pushes

the weight of the world off her shoulders

She finally has the strength to stand

statue-esic in pose, head held high

she tells herself she’ll make it

she finds the energy to take an agonizing step

out of the darkness into the light

every step building her confidence

tiny drops like rain follow her on her journey

she reaches out out arms raised

sunlight shone on her cold skin

she comes back to life...
