The pain of your goodbye still stings 

Why could I not say those words 

For the last time 

Could I not take your place 

Nights cause me to remember the man you are 

This i regret 

Saying my last goodbye 

I broke and I could not 

Face the pain 

Oh did you know how badly 

Now i wish i did that one last thing 

I am still full of regret 

Oh how i wish i shared

More time 

More love 

Maybe then 

You would have known 

How truly sorry 

For not being around more '

I can not deny 

That i wish 

You knew 

Wish you heard 

I love you from my lips 

I see you in my dreams 

I hear your deep voice 

Your touch i still feel 

Where ever you are 

Know that 

I am sorry 

For not giving you 

One last goodbye

This reminds me of the last night I was with my first love. It was as if I knew without knowing that it would be the last time that our lips met and our bodies fell together, but I do not think that I gave that time the full attention that I should have. Looking back, I wish I would have tattooed every second into my brain so that I would never forget them.

This was heartfelt and filled with both sorrow and redemption. "One last goodbye"...I'm sure that many of us can relate to this wish...
