Angel Eyes

Angel Eyes

A Poem by Jess K

Eyes as translucent blue as water kneeling before the light.
Composed upon my mind so bright.

Pull down your hood, look into my eyes.
You descend from the skies.

You will find no lies.
Don't ignore my tries.

Angel, what message do you bring, making my heart ring?
Almost like a sting.

The double edge of a word strike me a cord.
Almost like a sword.

In the end, it's something you don't want to send.
I'm here to make that anxious heart mend.

Thoughts ripping through your mind,
you're one of a kind.

That contemptible rage
needs to be caged.

It won't make you kind.
Peace is hard to find.

The fight will knock you down,
get up and pound.

That blood runs fast through your veins.
They don't want you to gain.

So give me a clue.
What am I to do?

I'll speak up when you can't say a word,
transmitting you that enticing white bird.

You will apprehend my message there.
I will guard you from despair.
