TEA OR COFFEE

I was a tea leaf, steeped in calm,
never needing more than warm simplicity.
Coffee was a storm I dared not to taste,
until her hands brewed it for me.

"Coffee is better," she said,
and I, a quiet cup, nodded along.
Did you hear the stirrings of doubt?
Or the echo of truth in my silence?

I drank, not for the flavor,
but for the alchemy of us-
two mismatched brews blending
into something wholly ours.

Evenings stretched into years.
Bitterness softened into ritual,
each sip a memory of you.

Then one day,
with a mischievous grin,
she handed me tea and said,
"It’s better than coffee, isn’t it?"

And in that moment,
I learned that love
isn’t the drink, but the sharing.
