Fleeting

Fleeting

A Poem by Tabitha Dings

  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sands of precious time
    Shifting and slipping between my toes
        Not one grain remaining in one place
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

        In constant motion

    Even when it all appears quite calm

Seconds fleeing, never to return
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love this analogy, its picture is clear, and its message a nagging reminder of past wasted life and our tentative grasp on what's left. Well written and received.
About
I'm normally a rather depressed creature, but I find solace in my son and my writing. Though God has been there through much of my pain, I feel that he gave me my writing for further comfort. I do hop.. more..
