The Final Say

The Final Say

A Poem by Reflexion

The Final Say

It has taken me 42 years

To

Finally blend the strengths of

My parents

Into a new entity

Somehow

I have begun to embrace my

Personal loneliness

And

Replaced it with a real connection

To everything and everyone

This gaping whole that

I could never control

Has now become a place of rest

For

My weary soul

As I see my reflection

My spirit

Sees connection

Connection

With the world

Not my world

Or

What I think it lacks

When your foundation leaks

A new found belief

Slowly

Fills the cracks

Making them irrelevant

And

Inspiring the knowledge that

Everything I have been was

Never

For the hell of it

There is a reason for the shadows

A reason for their pain

And

The reason brings me sunlight

Yet

A strong affection for the rain

So on this day

I’d like to inspire the lonely

As they

Sit and they pray for

The pain

To go away

The answer is it won’t

But

You always have the final say

So

Continue to pray and be strong

God is an Alchemist

Creating what is right

Out of what seemed wrong
