I think I'll never write about you.

I think I'll never write about you.

A Poem by Fairy Khan

You beloved are a dream,
a delusion of my essence,
running deep within my veins
filled with blood, fire and you.

You're a truth half realised-
everything I had wished for,
nothing l had hoped;
running deep within my soul
incinerated by my love,
unrequited.

I think I'll never write about you again.

That's the trouble with being a writer . . . it's too tempting to fictionalize some encounter, building it up into something far beyond the mundane reality of the thing. It's a fine balance, learning to use another's heat to spark one's creativity, but then not making that into the story of one's existence (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Apparently the one who got away. Maybe the one who was never approached. Unrequited love is a dead end, a road best undriven.

I have said this often. Then a face sneak into our thoughts. Make us create more words for someone. I liked the energy and the drive of the words leading to the proper ending. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome my friend.
The pain of unrequited love runs deep. All consuming. You would like not to write about it again Fairy, but you will. Perfectly penned dear poet. All good wishes.

Ah, unrequited love - this was a pleasant read, perhaps more familiar to me than at times I'd like it to be.

I think, in these matters, moving on is the pragmatic choice - though I'll admit, in my experience, the decision to perpetuate the feelings have lead to some of my better work. It's a difficult thing, and perhaps different for everybody, but I enjoyed the way you expressed it here and appreciate the way you chose to pen it.

Ah, if only it were that easy! I've found it's impossible to turn my back on someone who means that much to me.

Thank you for your kind words.
and the next poem will not be about the subject either, nor the one after that,
or the one after that.
I have made this pledge...but it is so hard for us to avoid writing about past relationships.
the poems pretty much write themselves.
