The space between us.

The space between us.

A Poem by Fairy Khan

What is love to you, my distant one?
Is it a shadow cast by the setting sun,
A fleeting glance, a whispered breeze,
Or something more that no one sees?

Is it a silence where words should be,
A cold retreat, an endless sea,
A touch that lingers, yet feels so far,
A distant, faint, and fading star?

Do you hold love as a captive ghost,
Afraid to feel, to risk, to boast?
Is it a riddle, a complex scheme,
Or just a fragment of a dream?

For love to me is warm and near,
A bond that's strong, a heart sincere,
It’s laughter shared and tears embraced,
A steady rhythm, a gentle pace.

But your love seems a phantom flight,
Elusive as the dark of night,
So tell me true, without disguise,
What is love through your eyes?
