What You Did

What You Did

A Poem by clayton_97

Look into my eyes
Do they reflect your lies?
Can you see the inner rain
Or the innocence slain?

Can you hear the screams
I had in my darkest dreams?
Can you see the tears
Hidden all these years?

Did you feel the pain
You caused as I was lain?
Could you smell the fear
On me when you were near?

All the years without you
Have caused me to become new
No longer I cry
No longer are you and I

And when you decided to go
I forced myself to know
That life can go on
That there will be a new dawn

Long you held me under a spell
Long forbidden been I to tell
Know now it is done
The pain is gone, and I have won

I think it's pretty good. I really like the "long you held me under a spell, long forbidden been I to tell."

A very empowering poem that reflects the battle of sorrow and strength...well done!
