My Tree.

My Tree.

A Poem by .abigail.

I long to climb among the trees,

To join our primate ancestors.

To scale them like a ladder,

To join the heights with the bees.

Scampering up the trunk,

Are my friends, the lizards.

They blend into the tree so well,

It’s as if into the bark they’ve sunk.

Passing a hole in the tree,

I look inside and gasp.

Staring at me with their possum eyes,

Is a mother and its baby.

I finally reach the top, the crown,

And sing my life with birds.

We glide through the branches together,

Never falling down.

I sit atop my tree, my life,

And gaze at the setting sun.

I think upon my heavenly day,

And swear to never let my tree reach strife.

About
Hey. My real name isn't Abigail, but I prefer it, and I don't want my friends to read any of the stuff I've written, so I'm not putting my real name. I was born in 1994, I live in Australia. M.. more..
