Fragile Memories.

Fragile Memories.

A Poem by .abigail.
"

written in one of my random depressions at night...

"

 Memories,

Tearing a hole in the place where my heart used to be.

Memories of him, Howard,

My grandfather, leaving 9 children, 6 wives and countless grandchildren, all disbelieving.

Memories of him, Taylor,

Whom I love deeply and unconditionally,

But he left to the other side of the world,

With his wife and 3 children,

Leaving my heart to start the never-ending process of healing.

Memories of her, Sarah,

Killed by a horse-riding accident at 19.

Leaving behind grieving family and friends,

Never given a chance to say goodbye.

Memories of him, Johnny,

Dead of a heart attack at 49,

Leaving wife, 3 children and the world to mourn his passing.

They all ache,

They all burn, hurt, maim,

Destroy.

Time doesn’t heal,

It eases.

It covers old wounds with thin bandages,

Ready to come off at a moment’s notice,

Ready to let the pain bleed back out and choke us,

Before we wrap it up again in fine tissue paper,

And handle it with care,

For it is fragile.

No words can heal the pain of lost friends and family. Time weaken the pain only. You are correct. A sad poem. We need to remember the ones we lost. In words on paper is what I do today.

Hey. My real name isn't Abigail, but I prefer it, and I don't want my friends to read any of the stuff I've written, so I'm not putting my real name. I was born in 1994, I live in Australia. M.. more..
