Do You Know

Do You Know

A Poem by Kimber Gillingham
"

A poem about how I lost my hero.

"

Do you know

Do you know I used to think of you as my hero?

Do you know how many times you’ve spent with your grandson? Zero.

Do you remember how I stuck by your side when no one else would?

Do you know how much you affected my childhood?

Do you know I’m angry and hurt?

Why did you leave me here in this boiling desert?

Was I not enough for you to stick around?

Do you know it kills me you’re not here when it feels like I’m about to drown?

Do you even think of me?

Are you just living your life carefree?

Do you know you left when I was going through one of the toughest times of my life?

Was it really more important to leave your daughter for a new wife?

Do you know I’ll never forget how much I cared and love you.

I just wish you felt the same way too.

I liked the way you wrote a postive and a negative question. You really expressed your emotions really well.
