Snowstorm

Snowstorm

A Poem by Lolita-chan
"

It is supposed to be Goether-style though I'm not too sure if I mirrored correctly.

"

Over mount and crag I tread,

Willfully. As Winter’s end,

Filling all around with dread,

Fights its last before Spring is to mend.

Stifling incredible fright,

Resisting the cold while,

I trudge on into the night,

Defining this as my last trial.

Morning peeps behind a cloud,

“The storm has calmed,”

I scream aloud,

“And I as well have come unharmed.”

With new found courage I go,

Happiness creeps back,

My destination not far below,

No longer in the black.

I now reach the village there,

And find my way to where I know,

But spy the house all strange and bare,

No clothes rippling in the winds that blow.

I rap upon the door,

No answer.

A passerby I do implore once I have knocked the door once more,

“Where is the one who lived here? The dancer?”

The passerby thinks a moment and mutters low,

“She passed away,

A-waiting in the nightly snow,

Refusing to go inside and stay.”

“Waiting for a lover,” I heard him say,

“Due to come back late,

We all told her is could not be that day,

But she ignored and continued to wait.

If this was the end of the tale,

I bade him away before I knew,

All happiness gone and sadness prevail,

My love I had to bid adieu.
