La la land

This poem is about that tricky little concept of perception.

Saturday circus freak show
Stare into the eyes of unknown
Familiar mutations but
oh, watch how they glow
 
Bending, twisting, jumping,
proving their separation
screaming their differences
We keep our distances

I'm a lonely mime
keeping my time
Watching you,
like its all new

I'm here to mimic
people that surround me
Someone show me the gimmick!

I'm closer now and I can see
That you are me
And we've lost the fantasy
