A Wilted Dream

A Wilted Dream

A Poem by Kierson

I am a blank canvas

convoluted and estranged.

Your twisted lies,your painted cries;

My life's a constant change.

Blood strewn across the canvas;

My innocence is dead.

A wilted dream held at the seams;

You painted it red.

Words shoved in my mouth;

Thoughts shoved in my mind.

A warning sign I failed to see

when love made me so blind.

Pining for your affliction;

Covetous for the pain.

A vicious addiction

for which I have no self restraint.

I burnt my bridges one by one

'til you were all that I could see.

In my distorted view,a light shined through

and saved myself from me.
