Taxidermy

Taxidermy

A Poem by Courtney

Stuffed, stiff body

fake claws protrude,

lifeless ornament

peering down from the mantle.

Too toyish for a name,

for entertainment only--

a life not missed.

Death for enjoyment,

neck angled sick,

Glass marble eyes

peering down from the mantle--

begging, haunting.
