Beating out the Truth

Beating out the Truth

A Poem by Courtney

The beating beneath her bosom

speaks volumes; gives away her lies

Apprehension steps in,

Causes her hesitant retreat,

But I still hear the beat.

In one revolution my eyes

again blinded; a slam and convex seat;

cadence on cement;

familiar rhythm approaches;

knocking outside the door.

I know that sound by heart,

unclick the lock a second before

her knuckles meet wood.

Unwillingly gave herself away.

Her careful cover is blown.

Her heart is her betrayer,

Knock knock against bone;

I grant permission to enter once more.

The beating beneath her bosom

gives away her truth.

You are definitely one of the most talented writers on here -- just based off what I have read so far. This is another strong piece and beautiful -- doesn't hurt that my iTunes decided to play Frou Frou while I was reading this. Well done, dear.
