Beating out the TruthA Poem by Courtney
The beating beneath her bosom speaks volumes; gives away her lies Apprehension steps in, Causes her hesitant retreat, But I still hear the beat. In one revolution my eyes again blinded; a slam and convex seat; cadence on cement; familiar rhythm approaches; knocking outside the door. I know that sound by heart, unclick the lock a second before her knuckles meet wood. Unwillingly gave herself away. Her careful cover is blown. Her heart is her betrayer, Knock knock against bone; I grant permission to enter once more. The beating beneath her bosom gives away her truth. © 2009 CourtneyReviews
