The Goodbye Game

The Goodbye Game

A Poem by Courtney
"

work in progress

"

 My throat constricts;

my heart starts to beat quick

from lack of traveling air .

I gasp through the wall

for a saving breath

fs panic takes over.

It’s as if I’m drowning.

My only hope is to push

the thought from my mind.

This is the worst feeling

I’ve ever experienced.

And you haven’t even left yet.

Hmm, I had to give it some thought but I determined that this person knows that the other is leaving. I've felt just like that before which is why I'm guessing at the feelings. Great piece, looking forward to updates if it is a work in process.
