Who you are, is who you are.

Who you are, is who you are.

A Poem by Samantha Koshiol

Pain in your eyes,
You tried to shield them from mine
You don't need to speak a word of regret,
Your short, heavy, nervous breath
Explains that you're upset.

Freeze your mind, just for a moment.
You've got a smile buried deep inside,
Don't be afraid to show it,
F*****g own it.

Be content with what you've been dealt,
You can trade it in, any given day.
You must play to reap the benefits, they say.
It's part of life,
And hey, I'm not a fan either.
But sometimes we must do what's expected,
Or mentally, you'll eventually be neglected.
